The High Limit Sensor 6600-168 that is plugged into the bottom of the heater housing is a bullet sensor that slides into a drywell.  The new heater sensor well is slightly narrower than the original heater.  Therefore, your old sensor will not fit into the new heater.  Be sure to order the sensor.  It may be held on by silicon and is removable.
